BeNe League

The League BeNe ( BeNe: short form from Belgium and The Netherlands ( Nederland), Abbr: BNL ) is the top division of the women's team of Belgian and Dutch football clubs. In establishing the 2012/13 season she made with eight clubs from both countries, the first cross-border league two national sports federations in Europe: Royal Belgian Football Association and the Royal Dutch Football Association. Previous major leagues were Eerste Klasse Belgium and Eredivisie in the Netherlands.

The main objective was at inception, to improve the sporting quality of women's football in both countries, given the difficulties to put together your own first league of 16 or more similarly powerful teams in each country.

Mode

In the first season Belgian ( BeNe League Red ) and Dutch ( BeNe League Orange ) teams were divided into two groups, in home and away matches divided, after the winter break playing the top four from each country in the BeNe League A, the other in the BeNe League B.

From the 2013/14 season all play in a common league. The top ranked team wins the BeNe Super Cup to the national champion had played as early as 2011 and 2012. The best-placed Belgian and the highest-ranked Dutch team are both qualified for the UEFA Women's Champions League.
