Benedetto Luti

Benedetto Luti (* 1666 in Florence, † 1724) was an Italian painter.

Luti 1691 moved from Florence to Rome, where the Grand Duke of Tuscany Cosimo III he. de ' Medici was patronized, an enthusiastic admirer of pastel portraits. Luti was one of the first who used the pastel painting not only to preliminary studies of paintings or frescoes, but portraits verfertigte it. In addition, he also painted oil paintings and frescoes, for example in the "Basilica di San Giovanni " in the Lateran.
