Benedict Pliquett ( born December 20, 1984 in Hamburg ) is a German football goalkeeper and since 2013 at SK Sturm Graz under contract.

Life

Pliquett came on 20 December 1984, the son of Rüdiger and Annegret Pliquett who live in Ahrensburg, in Hamburg to the world.

Playing career

Benedict Pliquett played at the SSC Hagen Ahrensburg and VfL Oldesloe before it for three and a half years moved to the amateurs of Hamburger SV in 2000.

After five months at VfB Lübeck II moved the 199 cm goalkeeper for FC St. Pauli in 2004, where he played in the Regionalliga Nord and for the second team in the Oberliga Nord. From 6 April 2008 the 27th matchday of the 2007/08 season, Pliquett was the first team in the 2nd Bundesliga goalkeeper, with the start of the 2008/09 season but he was ousted from the newly obligated Mathias Hain and was also in the Erstligasaison 2010/11 only spare behind Thomas Kessler.

In the 1-0 victory of FC St. Pauli in the HSV stadium on 16 February 2011 Pliquett debuted in the German top flight. There was promoted Pliquett with some spectacular saves and a very good performance to guarantee victory against their city rivals Hamburger SV. He made four more games in the season, which ended with the Bundesliga relegation. In January 2010 Pliquett extended his contract by two years until the end of the 2011/12 season, in which he came up with ten second division games behind the new main goalkeeper Philipp Tschauner.

In February 2012, he extended his contract by a further year until 30 June 2013. Pliquetts in May 2013 contract was renewed again for another year.

On September 2, 2013 changed Pliquett for SK Sturm Graz.

Others

As a " museum - sponsor of the team " supported Pliquett next to Fabian Boll since the opening of the 2013/14 season to build a FC St. Pauli Museum in the backstretch of the Millertor stadium.
