Benetton Rugby Treviso

Benetton Rugby Treviso is an Italian rugby union club from Treviso. Since 2010 he plays in the international championship Pro12, previously in the Italian League Super 10 was named the club after his main sponsor, the textile company Benetton. The home games are played at the Stadio Comunale di Monigo.

History

The club was founded in 1932. In 1956, he won his first of a total of 15 championship titles, in 1970 followed by the first Cup victory. In the season 1995/96 Treviso participated for the first time in the European Cup competition the Heineken Cup, but never managed to date to qualify for the quarter-finals. Even with the two participations in the European Challenge Cup Treviso never came over the group stage.

From 1997, Treviso was the dominant Italian club and won in the course of 13 years, ten league titles and three times the trophy. 1998 and 2010, the team managed the Double. In the season 2010/11 towards the club moved to the Celtic League (now Pro12 ), which includes Irish, Scottish and Welsh teams. The previous best finish is the 7th place in the 2012/13 season.
