Benito Cabrera
Benito Cabrera Hernández ( born 1963 in Lanzarote, Spain) is a regionally known musicians of the Canary Islands. His instrument is the traditional, guitar-like instrument of the archipelago, the Timple.
Cabrera went to Tenerife in 1982, where he studied psychology at the University of San Cristóbal de La Laguna.
In 1989, he won a regional competition of timple musicians. Benito Cabrera is the author of the song " Nube de Hielo " one of the most deep-rooted songs between canaries.
Cabrera is a performer and composer of Timple. It also occurs at concerts away in the Canary Islands. Not only in folklore, but also in the classical and pop he made known the Timple. As a musicologist, he has also made a name.
