Benjamin Edwards (Maryland)

Benjamin Edwards ( born August 12, 1753 Stafford County, Virginia; † November 13, 1829 in Elkton, Kentucky ) was an American politician. In 1795, he represented the state of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Benjamin Edwards attended the common schools and worked afterwards in Montgomery County in Maryland in agriculture and in trade. At the same time he embarked on a political career. For several years he sat in the House of Representatives from Maryland. In 1788 he was a delegate to the meeting at which the state of Maryland ratified the Constitution of the United States.
