Benjamin G. Lamme

Benjamin G. Lamme ( born January 12, 1864 in Springfield ( Ohio), † July 8, 1924 ) was an American electrical engineer and chief engineer at Westinghouse.

Until 1888 he attended The Ohio State University and began the following year at Westinghouse Electric, where he was head of development for electrical machines soon.

He received patents for generators, electric marine propulsion and a gyroscope Ship stabilization.

He developed 1895/1896, the generators for built under the direction of Lewis B. Stillwell power plant at Niagara Falls. In this he was supported by his sister Bertha Lamme (1869-1943) supported.

He also developed the power plant for the Manhattan Elevated Railway in New York.

1918 the AIEE Edison Medal he was awarded.
