Benjamin Hedericus

Benjamin wild radish ( born December 12, 1675 Geithain; † July 18, 1748 in Big Grove ) was a German dictionary and textbook author.

Life

Wild radish graduated after attending the Prince's School Grimsby studying in Leipzig and Wittenberg. From 1702 he worked as a teacher, first at the school of the monastery mountains, and later as Rector in Grand grove. In his spare time he wrote introductions to numerous studies, further words and textbooks of Greek and Latin. His instructions to the fürnehmsten historical sciences covers the areas chronology, genealogy, heraldry, numismatics, and diplomacy; he put it, without using the term, a canon of the auxiliary sciences together, the almost unchanged is still valid today.

Effect

The cited as the " Hedrich " Thorough Mythological Dictionary is today for the Goethe- research useful because the first and edited by Johann Joachim Schwabe second edition was in Goethe's possession and were heavily utilized by him. It was an honorable mention in correspondence with Friedrich Schiller. Also Kleist drew from him his mythological knowledge.
