Benjamin M. Friedman

Benjamin M. Friedman ( born 1944 ) is an American economist. He is Professor of Political Economy at the Department of Economics at Harvard University.

Life

Friedman received a B. A. (1966, summa cum laude ) and an M. A. (1969 ) in economics from Harvard University and an M. Sc. in economics and politics from King's College ( Cambridge ) ( 1970). In 1971 he finished his Ph. D. in Economics from Harvard University.

He has worked during his studies, among others, for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and was an advisor to the President of 1969 until 1971. 1971-72, he worked at Morgan Stanley. Since 1972, Friedman is Professor of Economics at Harvard University.
