Benjamin Moloise

Benjamin Moloise (* 1955 in Alexandra, † 18 October 1985 in Pretoria) was a South African poet and political activist.

Life

The trailer of the then forbidden " African National Congress ' ( ANC) worked in a factory and was convicted after a guilty plea to the murder of a black policeman in 1982 guilty. Despite the withdrawal of his statements of torture he was hanged in the central prison of Pretoria despite international appeals grace. His execution by the apartheid regime led to international protests and street battles in South Africa.
