Benjamin P. Birdsall

Benjamin Pixley Birdsall ( born October 26, 1858 in Weyauwega, Waupaca County, Wisconsin, † May 26, 1917 in Clarion, Iowa ) was an American politician. Between 1903 and 1909 he represented the state of Iowa in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Benjamin Birdsall attended the public schools of his home and then the Iowa State University in Iowa City. After a subsequent study of law and its made ​​in 1878 admitted to the bar he began in Clarion to work his new profession. Between 1893 and 1900 he was a district judge in the Eleventh Judicial District of Iowa.

Birdsall was a member of the Republican Party. In 1902 he was in the third electoral district of Iowa in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of David B. Henderson on March 4, 1903. After two re- election he was able to complete in 1909 three contiguous legislatures in Congress until March 3.
