Benjamin T. Frederick

Benjamin Todd Frederick ( born October 5, 1834 in Fredericktown, Columbiana County, Ohio, † November 3, 1903 in San Diego, California ) was an American politician. Between 1885 and 1887 he represented the state of Iowa in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Benjamin Frederick attended the public schools of his home. In 1857 he went to Marysville, where he was looking for gold. In 1859 he moved to Marshalltown, Iowa. There he worked 1865-1888 in mechanical engineering and steel foundry. In his new home he was 1874-1877 a member of the council and was three times elected to the Board of Education this community.

Politically, Frederick member of the Democratic Party. In the congressional elections of 1882 he was defeated narrowly Republican James Wilson. Frederick put but against the election complaint.
