Benno Mengele

Benno Mengele ( born December 11, 1898 in Zwettl, Lower Austria, † September 15, 1971 in Vienna ) was an Austrian electrical engineer.

He studied from 1918 to 1923 at the Technical University of Vienna and worked from 1922 at the Austrian Siemens - Schuckert. He developed the Erdschlusslöschung and the fault circuit and 1929 Gustav market bundle conductors for high and extra-high voltage power transmission. He also built the first hydrogen-cooled three-phase machine in Austria. 1965 awarded him an honorary doctorate from Vienna University of Technology.
