Benoît Cœuré

Benoît Coeuré (born 1969 ) is a French economist. He studied Japanese and then at the elite high school École Nationale de la Statistique et de l' Administration Economique ( ENSAE ). Coeuré worked for the National Statistical Office of France ( INSEE ) and was Director of Agence France Trésor.

On 29 November 2011, the EU finance ministers voted unanimously at their meeting in Brussels for Benoît Coeuré as a Board Member of the European Central Bank ( ECB). In January 2012 Coeuré succeeds by Lorenzo Bini Smaghi.
