Benoni S. Fuller

Benoni Stinson Fuller ( * November 13, 1825 in Boonville, Warrick County, Indiana, † April 14, 1903 ) was an American politician. Between 1875 and 1879 he represented the State of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Benoni Fuller attended the common schools and taught himself then as a teacher in Warrick County. In the years 1856 and 1858, he served as sheriff police chief in this district. At the same time he began a political career as a member of the Democratic Party. In the years 1862, 1870 and 1872 he was a member of the Senate of Indiana; 1866 to 1868 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the State.

In the congressional elections of 1874 Fuller was the first electoral district of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of William E. Niblack on March 4, 1875. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until March 3, 1879 two legislative sessions. In 1878 he abandoned a bid again. After his retirement from the U.S. House of Representatives Fuller worked in Warrick County in agriculture. He died on April 14, 1903 in Boonville.
