Bensonville

Bensonville, also Bentol, is a city in Liberia. It is the capital of Montserrado County.

The city is a market town and commercial center in the hinterland of Monrovia, it was founded in the early 19th century by former slaves from the United States. Bensonville located 26 kilometers northeast of Monrovia on 98 m at the St. Paul River. Before the Civil War Bensonville was a developed, economically important city. Here a concrete plant for the production of building materials and form stones, a mill for processing of grain, a sawmill and commercial businesses was for the production of palm oil, colors, fish products and canned goods. The town has about 1802 inhabitants.
