Bent-Ove Pedersen

Bent -Ove Pedersen ( born July 11, 1967 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian former tennis player.

Life

Pedersen was a professional tennis player in 1992 and celebrated his biggest career success in its first year as a pro when he won the ATP tournament from Bolzano on the side of Anders Järryd. This should be his only doubles title on the ATP World Tour. Although he reached in 1993 with Henrik Holm again a double finale, but in Kuala Lumpur, they were subject to the Dutchmen Jacco Eltingh and Paul Haarhuis. Throughout his career, he was also able to win three doubles titles on the ATP Challenger Tour. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1993 with position 366 in the individual as well as position 78 in doubles.

His best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the first round of the U.S. Open in 1993. After surviving qualifying with victories over Jeremy Bates, among others, he was defeated in the opening game smoothly in three sets against Byron Black. This was also his only qualification to a Grand Slam singles tournament. In the doubles competition, he reached in 1991 on the side of Matt Lucena the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.

Pedersen played 1987-1999 20 singles and 15 doubles matches for the Norwegian Davis Cup team. His greatest success with the team was participating in the first round of the World Group in 1995. During the 0:5 defeat against Belgium he came only as a double used. Both his individual score of 14:6, as well as its double score of 8:7 was positive. In the Summer Olympics 1992, he joined in on the side of Christian Ruud double for Norway. Norway was defeated in the first round of the South African double consisting of Wayne Ferreira and Piet Norval in four sets. South Africa later won the silver medal.
