Salicylate or benzyl is the benzyl ester of salicylic acid. It is a viscous liquid which has a pleasant odor and little in alcohols and ethers is readily soluble in water. He is isolated from the essential oil of the country (Dianthus caryophyllus ) and is used as a stabilizer for perfumes and in sunscreen use.
