Beorn Nijenhuis

Beorn Nijenhuis ( born April 2, 1984 in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada) is a Dutch speed skater.

At age 13, he moved from Canada, where he had begun with the speed skating in the Netherlands. A year later he received his Dutch citizenship and a short time later, he began to part in competitions for the Netherlands.

He is an outstanding 1000 -meter and 1500 - meter runner. He was in the World Cup 2004/2005 Second and third over 1000 meters above 1500 meters. In the World Single Distance Championships in 2005 in Inzell he finished third over 1500 meters.

In his first Olympic Games in 2006 in Turin, he was unable to match the achievements of the previous year and so he finished in 35th place over 500 meters and the 12th place over 1000 meters.
