Beppe Wolgers

Beppe Wolgers, actually John Bertil Wolgers, ( born November 10, 1928 in Stockholm; † August 6, 1986 in Ostersund, Jamtland ) was a Swedish actor, author, composer and director.

Life

Beppe Wolgers became known as an author of children's books and worked as a copywriter and influential composer for television and theater. So he convinced Zarah Leander from participation in Stephen Sondheim's musical Smiles of a Summer Night 1966 and wrote for the pieces I Remember, Liaisons and The Glamorous Life.

For a long time in Sweden a star, Wolgers eventually became known for his appearances as a bearded, cozy father Ephraim Longstocking in the popular Pippi Longstocking films by Astrid Lindgren and as a father in Dunderklumpen by Per Åhlin, for which he also wrote the screenplay, great international fame.
