Beppu Tower

The Beppu Tower (Japanese別府 タワーbeppu TAWA ) is a broadcasting and observation tower in the Japanese city of Beppu ( Oita Prefecture, on the island of Kyushu ).

The tower was built from 1956 to 1957 and on 10 May 1957 under the name " inspection center TV Tower " (観光 センター テレビ 塔Kanko Senta terebitō ) opened. In 1961 he received its present name.

The Beppu Tower is 100 meters high and 55 meters in height, a glass-enclosed observation deck with a small restaurant. Originally designed as a tourist attraction, the tower is now used due to its now outdated structures and poor hygienic conditions mainly as a television transmission tower.
