Berea District

Location of the district Berea in Lesotho

The district Berea is one of ten districts ( districts ) of the Kingdom of Lesotho in southern Africa. The district is named after the Mission was founded in 1843 Berea on the same plateau near the state capital Maseru. This mission is in turn according to the Greek city of Berea, today Veria, named, which was visited several times by the Apostle Paul.

Geography

The 2222 -square-mile district is located in northern Lesotho. With around 250,000 inhabitants, it is the most densely populated district and one of the most populous districts in the country.

The neighboring districts are in the south of Maseru, Thaba- Tseka in the east and in the north Leribe. On the west side of the district has a short border with the South African province of the Free State. The capital is Teyateyaneng, short TY.
