Berg-sur-Moselle

Berg -sur -Moselle ( German Mountain, Lorraine Bierg ) is a commune with 429 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Thionville -Est and Canton Cattenom.

Geography

Berg -sur -Moselle is between Thionville and the border triangle France - Luxembourg - Germany on the west bank of the Moselle River at an altitude 145-227 m above sea level. The municipality covers 2.91 km ².

History

The municipality belongs since 1769, with a break of 1871-1918 ( National Rural Alsace- Lorraine), France. Until 1930, the official French place name was simply mountain.
