Berg, Upper Franconia

Berg is a municipality in the Upper Franconian district court and is located in the Bavarian Vogtland about twelve kilometers north- west of the county town of Hof on the A9 motorway ( junction 31 Mountain / Bad Steben ).

Geography

The highest elevation in the municipality Berger is the 644 m high hill between the roads to Roth directing and Issigau.

History

The first mention of Berg dated 5 April 1322. The place is eponymous for the family of Mt. As part of the Principality of Bayreuth belonged Berg from 1500 to the Frankish Empire circle. It was a mountain in the Peace of Tilsit in 1807 and came to France in 1810 to the Kingdom of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Incorporations

On 1 January 1978, until then independent municipality Gottmann Green was incorporated. On 1 May 1978 Bruck, bow, Eisenbühl, Hadermann Green, Rudolph Stein, snoring Reuth and Deep Green were added.

Parish council

The council has 15 members (including mayor):

  • CSU: 6 seats
  • Nonpartisan voter community Berger angle: 5 seats
  • SPD: 4 seats

Partnerships

Berg maintains a community partnership with the Bergs Municipality in Jämtland (Sweden).

Economy and infrastructure

Industry

Since 2011 Mountain is the seat of international cable manufacturer LIROS. The municipality is also the stone quarry of building materials Beyer GmbH.

Fire department and the Red Cross

  • In the community there are volunteer fire mountain in mountain ( fire brigade ), Bruck, bow, Eisenbühl, Gottmann Green, Hadermann Green, Rudolph Stein, snoring Reuth and deep green.
  • The Bavarian Red Cross ( BRK) maintains a readiness in mountain.
  • In 2005, an assistant on-site location ( HVO) and 2007 of the recognized non-profit Friends of Mountain HVO was founded eV from the Bavarian Red Cross and volunteer fire departments.
