Berge Furre

Mountains Ragnar Furre ( born April 13, 1937 in Sjernarøy, Finnøy ) is a Norwegian politician, historian and professor of theology at the University of Oslo.

Furre was from 1973 to 1977 Member of the Storting for the Socialist Left Party, the parliamentary chairman, he was from 1975 to 1976. From 1976 to 1983 he was the successor of Berit Ås chairman of the party.

He was 1985 and 1986 Professor of History at the University of Tromsø and is Professor of Church History at the University of Oslo since 1991. Since 2003 he is a member of the Norwegian Nobel Commission to appoint the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and was elected in the same year as Deputy Head.
