Bergedorf

The district Bergedorf is the most south-eastern district of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. In comparison to the other districts it counts the fewest inhabitants in the largest area and has the most extensive green areas and fields.

History

Since the law took over the district administration in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg on September 21, 1949 on 11 May 1951 in force, is the district of Bergedorf, one of seven districts in the united community of Hamburg.

In addition to the former city, today Bergedorf district, the district was formed from the territories of to Hamburg belonging since 1395 Marschlande which to Hamburg belonging since 1868 Vierlande, the hamburgischen since 1768 Reitbrook and until 1938 the Prussian village Lohbruegge.

History of the railway in the territory of the county

After the opening of the first railway line in northern Germany, the Hamburg- Bergedorf railway, in 1842 the Berlin- Hamburg Railway in 1846 as the first national track set. Administrative divisions
