Bergen, North Holland

Bergen ( listen? / I ) is the name of a municipality in the Netherlands, North Holland province. It is located west of Alkmaar, on the North Sea and has 30 330 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). Since 2001, Egmond belongs to the municipality, as Schoorl.

Tourist

In the town are the seaside resorts of Bergen aan Zee Egmond aan Zee and Schoorl aan Zee, all three with long sandy beaches. Between Schoorl aan Zee Bergen aan Zee and there is also a zone where nudist tourism is permitted.

The dune area is one of the most beautiful Holland. A large area is forested. Also in the dunes, some small lakes and some heath.
