Bergerac, Dordogne

Bergerac is a town in the French region of Aquitaine, and with 27,687 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) to Perigueux the second largest city in the Dordogne. The city is the seat of the prefecture (French Sous- préfecture ) of the arrondissements of Bergerac, this consists of fourteen cantons, it is the capital (French: chef- lieu) of the cantons Bergerac Bergerac -1 and -2.

Bergerac is situated on the Dordogne River and is known for its locally grown wines, a bridge over the Dordogne and the Tobacco Museum.
