Bergholz is a town in Jefferson County, Ohio, United States. The village is situated on the Ohio State Route 524
History
During the Civil War Bergholz in 1863 of " Morgan's Raid", one of the northernmost Confederate campaigns, under Brigadier General John Hunt Morgan affected. Morgan moved with thousands of soldiers through Moorefield, Harrisville, New Athens, Smithfield, New Alexandria, Wintersville, Two Ridge, Richmond, Springfield, Bergholz, and Monroeville before he defeated at the Battle of Salineville and was taken prisoner.
