Bergholz

Bergholz is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern - Greifswald in eastern Mecklenburg -Vorpommern. Is administered by the Office Bergholz Löcknitz Penkun based in Löcknitz.

Geography

Bergholz on the border to Brandenburg lies on the northeast edge of Endmoränenbogens, the s-shaped stretches of Pasewalk to Angermuende. This ridge is bounded on the east by Randowbruch. To the north, the area is up to the Szczecin Lagoon, very flat. Bergholz is just 3 km from Headquarters Löcknitz away. History

1287 Vogt is Pasewalk Johannes de Berkholte mentioned ( Krabbo Or No 1431 ). First documentary mention of the place in 1484 as Berckholt.

On July 25, 1952 Bergholz was removed together with other municipalities from the Brandenburg until 1945 the Prussian district Prenzlau and assigned to the circle Pasewalk in the district of Neubrandenburg.

The population in Bergholz was in the period 1993-2005 to decline (from 444 to 412 ).

The first mention of Coselow is given as 1308.
