Bergrivier is a municipality in the district of West Coast of the Western Cape Province in South Africa. In 2001, the population was 46,316 in a total area of 4407 km ². The administrative center is Piketberg.

The community got its name from the second largest river in the Western Cape. The river rises in the mountains of Stellenbosch, winds through Paarl, Wellington, Gouda and Piketberg and leads finally to 294 kilometers into the Atlantic at Velddrift.
