Berkant Göktan

Berkant Göktan ( born December 12, 1980 in Munich) is a German of Turkish football player who is under contract with the Bavarian division side SV Heimstetten since the 2013/14 season.

Career

Clubs

After two years with Helios Munich Göktan joined with nine years in the youth department of FC Bayern Munich and stayed there until he was 18. Thereafter (until 2001 ) he belonged to the senior squad and made his debut on October 4, 1998 ( 7th Round ) in a 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga when he came on as a 78th minute for Thorsten Fink. For Bayern, he played his first competitive match - use, however, already on September 30, 1998, when he came on in the 63rd minute for Hasan Salihamidžić in a 2-2 draw against Manchester United in a home match of the second round of the Champions League.

After five league games for Borussia Mönchengladbach ( 21 February to 4 May 1999 ) and 14 for Arminia Bielefeld in the season 1999/2000, for which he was active on loan, he returned to Bayern back and played another league game and 28 Regional games (12 goals) for the amateur team.

From 2001 to 2005 he played in Turkey; first for Galatasaray Istanbul, which he claimed his first season ( 21 games, 5 goals) won the league title since 2004 and for Beşiktaş Istanbul. On 21 October 2008 Göktans contract was finally terminated without notice due to documented cocaine abuse. In summer 2009 it a return to 1860 was offered, but he refused.

National

Göktan played 29 times between 1998 and 2001 for the U-21 national team of Turkey and scored 10 goals.
