Berkeley algorithm

The Berkeley algorithm is used to synchronize physical clocks in distributed systems. It requires a central component, called the time the daemon or time server.

Expiration

In contrast to other algorithms is the time server or time demon (whose time is regularly set by the administrator) in Berkeley algorithm not passive. This means that the time the daemon and not the client to the distribution of the correct system time care.
