Berkheim

Berkheim is a municipality in the district of Biberach in Upper Swabia. Berkheim is located five kilometers west of Memmingen an der Iller in the Danube-Iller region.

Geography

The municipality also includes the villages next to Berkheim Bonlanden, Iller creeks and oak mountain.

History

Berkheim was first documented in 1093 in the founding document of the monastery Ochsenhausen. The place was up to the kingdom in 1803 part of the spiritual territory of prämonstratensischen Reichsabtei red at the red in 1806 the church was incorporated into the Kingdom of Württemberg. By 1938, the Illertalgemeinde belonged to the upper office Leutkirch, since 1938 it belongs to the district of Biberach.

Bonlanden

The place Bonlanden was first mentioned in 1128 as Bonlandin. On April 17, 1855 Faustin Mennel laid the foundation of the monastery Bonlanden that the mother house of the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady 's woman today.

Compared with the 2004 municipal election, there were slight shifts in the share of votes of the individual groups. The number of seats remained the same.

Community partnership

Berkheim maintains since 1992 a community partnership with the French community Coubron the department of Seine -Saint- Denis.

Blazon: "In a golden red pilgrim with peripheral golden cord, knotted front and two times in two tassels ending, accompanied top of two golden shells. "

On November 18, 1957, the community received permission from the Interior Ministry, a coat of arms with two golden Pectinidae and the golden pilgrim of the Holy Bold will be kept in red.

Berkheim is located on the A7 Flensburg - feet to the exit Berkheim as well as on the main road 312 (Memmingen - Stuttgart Airport ).

Berkheim has its own primary school. In the district Bonlanden is a special school.

Business

In Berkheim is the headquarters of the well-known construction company Max Wild, which has made particularly by crashes of industrial and commercial buildings in Southern Germany a name ( such as the partial demolition of the old Stuttgart ).
