Berlaar is a Belgian municipality located in the Flemish region with 10,960 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). It consists of the main town and the smaller district Gestel.

Mechelen is located 15 kilometers south-west, Antwerp 20 km north-west of Brussels and about 35 kilometers south-west.

The next highway exits are located at ground Hoven and Herentals on the A13 / E 313 and at Kontich and Mechelen on the A1 / E 19

The community has a regional railway station on the line Antwerp - Lier - Aarschot and in Antwerp and Brussels also keep on regional express trains.

Antwerp airport is the nearest regional airport and the Brussels National Airport near the capital Brussels is an airport of international importance.
