Berlin ExpoCenter Airport

The Berlin Expo Center Airport (short: BECA ) with an exhibition area of ​​250,000 m² is a fairground on the outskirts of Berlin Brandenburg Airport. It was initiated by Messe Berlin and the Brandenburg Economic Development Board (ZAB ). The name corresponds to the new own label for the exhibition center ( Berlin) Berlin Expo Center City.

The building in the district Selchow the Brandenburg municipality of Schönefeld is located immediately adjacent to the southern runway of the airport. It is designed as a multifunctional exhibition and events venue and secures, among other things, the implementation of the International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition Berlin ( ILA) in the Berlin / Brandenburg.

Planning, organization and completion

For construction and marketing of the site the fair Selchow GmbH (MIS ) was established on 10 November 2010. Shareholders will each own 50 percent of the Messe Berlin GmbH and ZAB Brandenburg ( ZAB). The MIS invested claims to 27 million euros in the development of the new site. The terrain is connected via the taxiway Bravo directly with the future Berlin Brandenburg Airport.

Ground was broken on August 18, 2011. Around 50,000 m² are for the halls and small building provided (for the VIP service ) which takes place every two years, ILA, outdoor areas for the presentation of aircraft of all sizes and categories comprises 100,000 m² and more 100,000 m² contain the spectator area and the routing. This also includes a separate tower for the event management, numerous service and dining facilities, a press center and a conference center. After ten months of construction, the symbolic key handover took place on 3 July 2012. In the Berlin Expo Center Airport 43 million Euros have been invested. It created three fixed exhibition halls with more than 20,000 m².

The economic profit for Berlin and Brandenburg by the ILA is around 361 million euros according to its estimates. The Expo Center strengthens location and attractiveness of this exhibition again, and offers an opportunity for further events.

The closest

The regional and mainline train station Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg (ICE, IC, EC and the regional express lines RE7, RE9, RB14, RB22 ) and the S-Bahn station Waßmannsdorf (S -Bahn lines S9 and S45 ) are the major roads for public transport.

By road, the Berlin Expo Center Airport is accessible via the main roads B 96 and B 96 a, which in turn have direct connections to the city center of Berlin and the Berlin motorway ring.
