Berlin Half Marathon

The Berlin Half Marathon is a half marathon (path length: 21.0975 km ) in the city of Berlin. He went in 1990 from the existing since 1984 SCC Half Marathon in West Berlin and the existing since 1981 East Berlin Peace Run (which was renamed in his first year as Lichtenberg Marathon ) out. Since 1992, he will be held in late March or early April. He is like the Berlin Marathon organized by the sports club SC Charlottenburg and organized by the SCC EVENTS GmbH.

Route

Introduced in 2003, route began Unter den Linden, passed through the Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column and proceeded west to the Charlottenburg Palace, where they turned off to the south. About the Kurfürstendamm it passed back to the city center and at Potsdamer Platz. The other route led first to the Red City Hall and the goal at the Berlin Cathedral.

The 2011 change in routing is used as the start and finish, as already before 2003, the beginning of the Karl -Marx -Allee. After starting, the participants turn into Karl- Liebknecht-Straße and follow the previous track. On the way back to the goal they run and over the Leipziger Straße at Checkpoint Charlie.

Inline skating competition

1997 Inline Skate Competition runner - part half marathon was. The half marathon is the first major competition of the year for most inline speed skaters in Germany. Berlin will thus become the venue for the teams and their drivers newly formed. Race Director, responsible for all aspects of in-line skating competitions was to 2011 Alexander Uphues of the SCC- RUNNING Events GmbH.
