The station Messe Nord / ICC ( joke life ) is an S-Bahn station in Berlin's Charlottenburg district of the New Kant road and the border with the district of Westend. It is located on the ring road and was to be achieved by 1944, from the light rail from. Until 2002 was the joke life station. In operation sites directory it is passed under the symbol BMN. The entrance is located, inter alia, on the East Prussia bridge.
History
The station was built according to plans by August Bredtschneider vessel within three years and opened to traffic on 1 April 1916. The system consisted of two symmetrically arranged central platforms, at the northern or southern end there are two almost identical reception building. The two platforms were served separately: While the eastern trains was reserved to and from the light rail, the circle line trains ran on the western. Only in the following Westend station there was a track change between the two routes.
1944, the connecting curve to the train station Charlottenburg and thus to rail due to bomb damage was shut down. As a result, the city platform was no longer served and fell into disrepair. The ring platform was, however, continue to be served, but by the increasing separation of the two halves of the city and finally the S -Bahn networks took the number of passengers rapidly. Only with the re- opening of the Circle Line on 17 December 1993, the station was reactivated. Remarkably, the roof of the ring the platform was repaired before the plans for re- commissioning. Connection
The S-Bahn station is served by lines S41, S42 and S46 in the wake of the Berlin ring road. There is a direct bus transit traffic for the Berlin public transport. In addition, the Metro Station Emperor dam is located on the U2 line a short distance to the station.
