Bermbach

Bermbach is a municipality in the district Schmalkalden- Meiningen in Thuringia ( Germany ). It belongs to the administrative community Haselgrund, which has its headquarters in the town of Viernau.

Geography

The municipality is located in a side valley of the drought hazel, below the saddle mountain in the south and the crumpled box in the north.

History

For the first time the city was mentioned as Bernbach in 1274, the homestead belonged to the center Benshausen in the county of Henneberg. Economic basis of the place was the first forestry - Köhler and loggers. After the extinction of the Counts of Henneberg the place came in 1583 under the joint administration of the Saxon Wettin and was assigned as part of the " Benshäuser exchange contract " in 1619 the Office Hallenberg, which came under the contract for the Hessian of Schmalkalden.

In 1623 the city counted 23 houses. In the late 19th century Bermbach owned 321 acres of arable land, gardens and meadows, but no Gemeindewaldung. The belonging to the district Forests (453 acres total ) were in possession of the Dukes of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. The livestock consisted of two horses, 120 cattle, 80 pigs, 20 goats. The commercial development of the town Bermbach only began in the 19th century. In 1828 the town had 10 Leinweber, 2 farriers and 2 nailers. 1892 were counted 15 locksmith, 1 Baupolier and 8 Drechsler in Bermbach.

In 1879 the church was built as a simultaneous buildings of traditional half-timbered construction. The building consisted of church and school, which were established in Bermbach in separate floors at the same time. So the bottom floor of the village school, and later the doctor's office today and Heimatstube was initially housed. The Protestant parish is now the parish Springstille.

In Bermbach there since the 1990s, a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah 's Witnesses. To the Bermbach has a smaller church.

Policy

The municipal council of Bermbach is composed of 8 members of the Free Voters group Bermbach. (As at municipal election on June 27, 2004)

The honorary mayor Gerd Hermann was elected on 27 June 2004.

Natural Monuments

Above the town (turn off on the road to Herges -Hallenberg ) the crumpled box is a popular tourist restaurant and a slope. The large parking lot offers itself as a starting point for hikes to the mountain and to the Great Hermann Ruppberg.
