Bern Switzerland Temple

History

The approximately 2.8 -acre temple site was selected in July 1952 by President David O. McKay, and Samuel E. Bringhurst, then president of the Switzerland - Austria - mission. Architects were Edward O. Anderson and William rooms. The groundbreaking ceremony and the dedication of the temple area was carried out on 5 August 1953 by President David O. McKay. On September 11, 1955, the Temple of David O. McKay was ordained.
