Bernadetta Matuszczak

Bernadetta Matuszczak ( born March 10, 1931 in Toruń ) is a Polish composer.

After visiting the music school in her hometown Matuszczak studied at the State Academy of Music Posen music theory with Zygmunt Sitowski, piano with Irena Kurpisz - Stefanova and composition with Tadeusz Szeligowski. From 1960, she continued her studies in composition at the State Conservatory in Warsaw Szeligowski and after his death in Kazimierz Sikorski. Your diploma as a composer, she received in 1964. With a scholarship from the French government in 1968, she studied in Paris with Nadia Boulanger.

In 1965 she won the Young Polish Composers Competition of the Polish Composers' Union, in the following year the Grzegorz - Fitelberg Composition Competition and the 1967 competition of the Jeunesse Musicales. Her work Tubae September 1969 performed at the 43rd World Music Festival in Hamburg, her chamber opera Juliet Romeo i at the International May Festival in 1972 in Wiesbaden.
