Bernard Blier

Bernard Blier ( born January 11, 1916 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, † March 29, 1989 in Saint-Cloud, Hauts -de -Seine, France) was a French film actor. Blier turned 181 films and was one of the most prolific character actors in France.

Life and work

Bernard Blier was born in 1916 in Argentina, where his father, a biologist, was on a business trip. Already during his studies in philosophy, he took acting lessons. Blier debuted in 1936 as a film actor, and was then for many years, especially in smaller roles to see. His colleague Louis Jouvet advised him to persevere in his profession and to play any role you were to offer him.

Over the decades, Blier was six or seven films a year turned to the part, especially in France and Italy one of the most popular character actor.
