Bernard Ebbers

Bernard John " Bernie " Ebbers ( born August 27, 1941 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a Canadian managers and criminals. He was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the U.S. telephone company WorldCom.

Ebbers has a brother, Jim Ebbers. He attended the Victoria Composite High School in Edmonton, and then began to study in Edmonton at the University of Alberta. He moved to the Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, and finally to the Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi, where he graduated in 1967 with a BA Physical Education ( physical education ). Later he was awarded the academic degree of Dr. jur. Honorary awarded.

Ebbers WorldCom had transformed within two decades into one of the largest telephone companies. 2002 committed Ebbers WorldCom with a 11- billion - dollar fraud. On 13 July 2005 he was sentenced for this in New York City to 25 years in prison for reporting fraud, which he spends in the Federal Detention Center in Oakdale (Louisiana ). The company WorldCom was called to December 2005 and MCI merged in January 2006 with Verizon.
