Bernard Genghini

Bernard Genghini ( born January 18, 1958 in Soultz -Haut-Rhin ) is a French former football player and football coach.

Stations as a player

From 1976 to 1982 played in the Upper Alsace Guebwiller in his homeland had become large, high-scoring midfielder for FC Sochaux- Montbéliard, before moving to AS Saint- Étienne. Here, however, he remained only one season. From 1983 to 1986 he played for AS Monaco. It initially followed in 1986 a brief stint with Servette Geneva and then two years at Olympique Marseille. At the end of his career he was still playing for Girondins Bordeaux (1988 /89).

Successes in the club

With the teams from Sochaux (1980 ), Monaco (1984 ) and Marseille (1987 ), he won the runner-up in the French league. He also belonged to the teams who took part in 1982 ( 5 games) and 1986 (1 game) at the respective FIFA World Cup and the 1984 European Champion (2 matches) were made.

After the end of his playing career, he worked from 1992 to 1995 as a coach at FC Mulhouse.
