Bernard J. Ganter

Bernard James Ganter ( born July 17, 1928 in Galveston, † 9 October 1993) was an American clergyman and Bishop of Beaumont.

Life

Bernard James Ganter received on 22 May 1952, the sacrament of Holy Orders for the Diocese of Galveston.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 13 December 1972 the first Bishop of Tulsa. He received his episcopal consecration of the Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Luigi Raimondi, on 7 February of the following year; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Galveston - Houston, Wendelin Joseph Nold, and his Coadjutor Bishop John Louis Morkovsky.

On October 18, 1977, he was appointed Bishop of Beaumont and introduced into the office on 13 December of the same year.
