Bernd Dreher ( born November 2, 1966 in Opladen, today Leverkusen ) is a former German football goalkeeper and goalkeeping coach.

Clubs
Bernd Dreher began his professional career in 1986 at the Bundesliga Bayer 04 Leverkusen. For his first he came on 11 April 1987 ( 24th Round ) in a 2-1 away win " Schalke ". After three more seasons with only four inserts Dreher joined Bayer 05 Uerdingen, the district Club from Krefeld. After 34 matches played, the descent was made in the 2nd Bundesliga. After a year of abstinence managed to carve out for season 1992 /93. After another descent at the end of season one years later managed to rise again - but only for two seasons. A third season in the second division wanted Dreher no longer serve and joined the 1996/97 season for Bayern Munich. As a replacement for goalkeeper Oliver Kahn committed, he came only in the third season to four games; to 2003 was followed by seven in the first division and two in the third division team. As part of the team he came, however - even if used only sporadically - to numerous titles. Although he finished his career as a footballer in 2003 and from then on was active as a goalkeeper coach, he has been reactivated for the season 2005/ 06 and denied due to an injury of Oliver Kahn on October 1, 2005 ( 8th Round ) 2-0 home victory over the VfL Wolfsburg again a Bundesliga game. A job as goalkeeping coach ( under Sepp Maier ) - Dreher was at Bayern Munich under the contract in the following two seasons - has continued. His last competitive game - at the age of 40 years, 6 months and 17 days - 19 May 2007 (34th Round ) in a 5-2 victory in the home game against 1 FSV Mainz 05 made him the fifth- oldest player in the Bundesliga. It was also the last competitive game of Mehmet Scholl. In the 2007 /08 season, he was still officially the senior squad, but came to no longer use. The season was his last as a goalkeeper coach; with arrival of new coach Jurgen Klinsmann left turners the coaching staff. With the 2009/10 season Dreher assumed the position of goalkeeper coach at the Bundesliga FC Schalke 04 under coach Felix Magath true - as the successor of Oliver Reck, whose contract was not renewed. On March 20, 2011, he sat after the dismissal of head coach Magath and assistant coach Bernd Hollerbach for a game on a transitional basis as an assistant coach from interim coach Seppo Eichkorn on the bench of FC Schalke 04 On July 4, 2012, the termination of his contract from FC Schalke announced.
Dreher graduated 153 Premiership (131 Bayer 05 Uerdingen, 13 Bayern Munich, Bayer 04 Leverkusen 9 ) and 70 second division games ( Bayer 05 Uerdingen ).

With 40 years, 6 months and 17 days, he is the fifth-oldest player to have appeared in the Bundesliga for use.
Bernd Dreher is considered to be technically skilled football players, which is not natural for a goalkeeper. He was sometimes used by former coach Felix Magath in test matches as a striker. Even in the " FC Bayern all-star team " played Dreher to 2008 both as a goalkeeper as well as the attacker. Since 2009, he is no longer in the all-star squad.
Bernd Dreher's brother Dirk is currently working as an assistant coach of the second team of Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
