Bernd Pischetsrieder

Bernd Peter Pischetsrieder (* February 15, 1948 in Munich) is a German manager. He worked from 1993 to 1999 at BMW from 2002 to 2006 by Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg as CEO.

Life

Pischetsrieder studied from 1968 to 1972 mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich in 1973 and entered his first job as a production engineer at BMW on. His career at BMW led him in 1982 as head of production for BMW South Africa to Pretoria. Here he remained until 1987 and then returned to the group headquarters back to Munich, where he was appointed to the Board in 1991, becoming Chairman in 1993. Pischetsrieder was known primarily for the 1994 threaded by him buying the British Rover Group Holdings Ltd.. by BMW. McLaren F1 accident

In June 1995, the Guided by Bernd Pischetsrieder McLaren F1 somersaulted out of the BMW fleet several times on a country road at the Chiemsee. Pischetsrieder, his wife and another passenger were slightly injured. The circumstances that led to the total loss of 1.6 million marks expensive cars were never made ​​public. Relationship
