Berndroth

Bernd Roth is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Katzenelenbogen.

History

The first written information about Bernd Roth appeared in 1220. During the site of two farms, which belonged to the Counts of Katzenelenbogen existed. As of 1479 the village passed into the possession of the Landgrave of Hesse. Since 1806, the village belonged to the Duchy of Nassau, from 1866 to Prussia. Since 1946 Bernd Roth is part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded. 1972 came in the wake of the Rhineland-Palatinate " functional and territorial reform " to form the municipality Katzenelenbogen who belongs to the local church Berndroth ever since.

Parish council

The local council in Berndroth consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
