Berneuchen Movement

The Berneuchener movement is a religious evangelical movement that has emerged in the first half of the 20th century. Goals of the movement are: reform of the church and its worship life and mutual pastoral and spiritual care.

History

The Berneuchener movement emerged in 1922 as a result of due to radical changes after the First World War felt needs of the Church and youth from evangelical circles of the youth movement out. Representatives of several church youth leagues came together in Angern near Magdeburg, to discuss new ways; 1923 to 1927 was followed by annual meetings at the manor Berneuchen (now Barnówko near Dębno / Neudamm ) in the Neumark ( now in Poland ).

Branches

To Berneuchener movement today belong to the Berneuchener service, the St. Michael's Brotherhood and the Community of St. Michael. All three spiritual communities put the focus on the celebration of the Eucharist in the form of the Protestant Mass, on an hourly prayers, daily reading of Scripture and meditation.

The common center of all communities is the Kloster Kirchberg near Sulz am Neckar.

Michael Brotherhood

The Michael Brotherhood was created by a meeting at Michael's (29 September ) in 1931 by 22 brothers in the Chapel of the Cross ( University Church of Marburg). The Brotherhood sees itself as " an engaging community of men, priests and laity within the Church of Jesus Christ " ( Reinhold Fritz). It includes brothers from eight different denominational churches. The Young Brotherhood is a separate Covenant of Brotherhood and takes on young women and men who are looking for the time of their training or studies for a binding spiritual life.

About a third of the Brotherhood are pastors. She considers it important not to be a parish fraternity, but a connection between men who are looking for a designed spirituality. Berneuchener service

The Berneuchener service is a spiritual community of women and men who endorse and carry the concerns of Berneuchener movement. It is ecumenically open and maintain a holistic understanding of spirituality. In regional conventions meetings are held with Eucharistic celebration, reflection, meetings and discussions.
