Bernhard Auinger

Bernhard Auinger ( born February 21, 1982 in Salzburg) is an Austrian race car driver. He is the son of motorcycle racer August Auinger.

Career

Auinger began his motorsport career in 1997 in karting, where he was active until 1998. He then moved to Formula racing and launched with the support of Red Bull in Formula König. After the eleventh overall place occupied in 1999, he won the 2000 with two race wins the championship title in this series. He also made ​​his debut in the German Formula 3 Championship, where he competed in four races. Over the next two years, his main focus was on the German Formula 3 Championship, in which he, after he had become the year 21 of the drivers' championship in 2002, the eighth place overall finished.
